FOCUSING ON
Our Priorities
There's a reason our schools sit at the heart of our community. We've chosen to make them a priority, and families are drawn here not only by the promise of academic excellence but also our devotion to the arts, culture, athletic achievement, and diversity. I'm honored to be part of one of the finest school districts in the nation these past twelve years, but our work isn't done. Here are some of my top priorities as a member of the New Albany-Plain Local Board of Education:
Academic
Achievement
I'll continue to work alongside our superintendent, teachers, and staff to implement the NAPLS Continuous Improvement Plan, focusing on academic performance, graduation rates, student well-being, fiscal management & community engagement.
Fiscal
Responsibility
Thanks to sacrifice and smart management, we've avoided asking for new operating tax revenue for more than a decade. That's a remarkable achievement, considering the growth of our district during that time. I'll continue to push for quality through fiscal responsibility, and I promise to give taxpayers confidence in our financial stewardship.
Student Well-Being
Access to a quality education can be a great equalizer, and that includes a student's social and emotional well-being as much as their academic experience. I'm proud of the work we're doing to create a campus culture where every student is treated with Kindness, Dignity, and Respect, and I'll continue to push for opportunities to grow and improve.
Steady Leadership
Greater New Albany's population has increased significantly in the past few years. Accommodating that kind of growth while maintaining the quality people have come to expect from our schools requires vision, planning, and consensus. I'm committed to providing accountable leadership to meet these demands and achieve our goals.
